Customer Review: The author gives great step-by-step instructions for several toy projects. I've made 3 of them for my son. It's a well written book with good drawings (full sized templates where possible) for some cool toys. It's got airplanes, cars, trucks, trains, and a grasshopper with moving legs. Very polished designs, you can tell the author has made several of the projects a number of times, his advice is great. There is also a lot of variety of designs, which is nice, there are other toy building books that just cover one type (like only trains or only trucks). So... this is the best of all worlds.
It also showed me a few techniques that I've applied to other woodworking projects,...

Customer Review: This book is just what I was looking for: Illustrated descriptions of styles and terms used for furniture. If you want to know what terms like "cabriole" mean (for which you really need illustrations), this is probably the right book for you. Given that most of the material is historical, that's not as bad as it sounds
The Encyclopedia of Furniture would benefit greatly from the better editorial and production values that computerized compilation methods have made possible. (Unfortunately, most publishers--reflecting the ownership of ...

Customer Review: Used this textbook for my History of Furniture class...a great reference that I will keep when I finish the class as well. Glossary for terms is really weak but there are a lot of pictures demonstrating pieces.

Customer Review: I was 50/50 on whether this would be a good map based on the reviews and tiny picture, but I was pleasantly surprised. We weren't getting it for any grand purpose of framing in a den or anything, so the fact that it's more a glossy finish than a more matte, paper-like look didn't bother us. We just wanted something to mount on foam board for guests to pin things that didn't look atrociously 10th-grade geography-esque. It fit the bill.
That said, were this put on better paper I think one could frame it as decent (not fine) wall art.
Shipping was quick and in a sturdy tube.

Customer Review: Sellers item description stated the opener is made out of cast iron. It's not! It is made from cast aluminum so it cheaper to make and will not be as sturdy and durable as one made of cast iron.
