Grandmother Remembers a Written Heirloom for My Grandchild
by Judith Levy
Amazon Price: $13.57
Customer Review: This is a great book to give to your grandmothers in order that you may learn more about them. It is very detailed and I am looking forward to getting this back from them all filled out. I suggested that they fill this out a little every day because it can be a little daunting to look at the entire book as needing to be filled in. Definately would recommend this.

Southern Discomfort (Deborah Knott Mysteries)
by Margaret Maron
Amazon Price: $23.10
Customer Review: SOUTHERN DISCOMFORT by Margaret Maron is strong on family and scenery, but very light on mystery. It is a letdown after the strong beginning of the series, which won every award for excellence.
Judge Knott is sworn into office and finds herself involved in women's issues without having a strong interest in the subject. This story revolves around character building through internal dialogue and Knott's actions as Judge. It is enough to keep the series going, but lacks any strong themes to keep the series alive as southern crime fiction.
Nash Black, author of SINS OF THE FATHERS.

Beautiful Button Jewelry: 60 Easy Heirloom Treasures
by Susan Davis
Amazon Price: $10.76
Customer Review: This is a great book about button jewelry. I had collected some beautiful buttons over the years and did not know exactly what to do with them, but I knew it would make something beautiful. I never had a class on jewelry making, but I followed the easy steps in the book and made some beautiful things. If you like buttons and jewelry this is a great book to have and to learn from.

Sincerely,

Patricia,

Customer Review: Bad story poorly wrote . Halfway through I was wishing " The Travelin' Man " would come and cut my eyes out and spare me from reading further .

N is for Noose (A Kinsey Millhone Mystery)
by Sue Grafton
Amazon Price: $19.00
Customer Review: I generally enjoy reading Ms. Grafton's books. N is for Noose is not one of them. I kept having the feeling I'd already read this book. The fact that I'm still unsure, even after I've now completed it, tells me something. Such as - maybe it's too much like others of her stories. Or maybe I did read it, but it was forgettable the first go-round, too.

Another annoyance was Ms. Grafton's all-gears-showing technique of describing every mundane quality of something or another. Normally, I appreciate this style, but in this book, it came across as if a college student were completing an assignment in which she was required to use particular writing devices.

Then there w...

The Treasure Hunt: A Little Bill Book for Beginning Readers, Level 3 (Oprah's...
by Bill Cosby
Amazon Price:
Customer Review: The Treasure Hunt is a book that every child should own. It's from the Little Bill Series by Bill Cosby. It's creative and funny and it teaches children about family and tradition.
It's raining outside and Little Bill can't find anything to amuse himself with. He's bored with the hobbies that the rest of his family are interested in.His great grandma,in her wisdom, lets him find out what he is capable of.
Mr.Cosby shows us that we all have something creative in us.He demonstrates how children often learn about themselves through interactions with others. I like the idea that the book features a letter to parents by a child psychiatry specialist.

The Amber Room
by Steve Berry
Amazon Price:
Customer Review: This was Berry's first effort and like the others is a fast-paced thriller with some history as the backdrop. Perhaps not as polished as the later books, but just as over-the-top. Only in the world of movies and fiction does one find stories like this. The pacing which propels you ahead is what more writers need to study. You shouldn't have to force yourself through chapters. WWII-Nazi-Cold War mysteries are always a nice touch. Read more in Hitler's Holy Relics: A True Story of Nazi Plunder and the Race to Recover the Crown Jewels of the Holy Roman Empire or if you like the tech end read Hitler's Suppressed and Still-Secret Weapons, Science and Technology. A lot of mysteries still out there...

Teacups full of Treasures: Let the Names of God Be Your Source of Strength (H...
by Mary Grace Birkhead
Amazon Price:
Customer Review: I love books that celebrate the Names of God. There is nothing like studying them and understanding their power. As Mary Grace Birkhead puts it in the book's introduction, "Learning His attributes and meditating on their meaning allows us to know him more intimately." Each page of this book contains a different Name of God with a scripture and encouraging passage from the author. Next to that is a precious picture of a teacup, each uniquely adorned. This book affirms God's power and majesty in our lives and is something I'll be reading over and over again for years to come! A timeless and inspiring book! The perfect gift for someone else or for yourself! Enjoy...

Roses Are Red (Alex Cross)
by James Patterson
Amazon Price:
Customer Review: This is my first James Patterson novel. I read "Against Medical Advice" which was based on a true story and i really enjoyed that one, so i thought this would be great. Well i kept reading and reading because it thought at some point Alex Cross was going to be this great hero, and prove to be a mastermind himself. But his biggest break in the case was when someone blew the whistle on their own father. No amazing display of detective work there.... In fact Alex Cross has NO CLUE until the end of the book... and yet i'm still unsure if he really knew. There was no motive no rhyme or reason for the ending.

Not sure if i want to read another James Patterson book again. My hus...
